Our Faculty is glad to announce that the “Summer School on the Economics of Family and Succession Law” by Hamburg University in Hamburg, Germany will be held virtually this year from the 5th to the 21st of August, 2020.
Law and Economics is the application of economic theory to the analysis of law; its applications could be applied in different areas of law such as Criminal law, Contract law, Tort Law and Intellectual Property, etc… One of the many applications of economic analysis is on the Family and Succession Law.
This summer school is designed provide our students with insights on the methods of economic analysis of law and how to apply it to the family and succession law in Muslim countries, especially in Egypt and Tunisia.
The selected candidates will attend the summer school on the online platforms with the opportunity of interacting with a wide number of experts from Professors in Economics, Professors in Law to Practitioners from different respected universities.
The lecturers are as the order of the courses:
1- Dr. Sang- Min Park, Technische Hochschule Mitelhessen.
2- Prof. Moamen Gouda, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
3- Prof. Mohamed Rashwan, British University in Egypt.
4- Stefan Vogit, Universität Hamburg.
5- Dr. Nora Alim, Member of the Association for Arabic and Islamic Law.
5- Prof. Ahmed Fikri, Douglas Research Centre, Mc Gill University in Canada.
At the end of the summer school students will prepare group presentations on some of the courses and the best work will have a chance to be presented in a workshop in Hamburg University later this year.
