The International Hybrid Symposium on the Future of Catalysis at the British University in Egypt.
As a leading Egyptian university in education and research, the Nano Technology Centre at The British University in Egypt (BUE) in collaboration with The Tokyo Metropolitan University in Japan are proud to announce the organising of the International Hybrid symposium on the Future of Catalysis: Challenges and Prospectives on December 13th, 2021.
The symposium will be held under the Patronage of the BUE President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohamed Loutfi, Deputy Vice- Chancellor and Vice President for Research and Enterprise, Professor Yehia Bahei-El-Din, Director of the Nanotechnology Research Centre, Professor Medhat Ibrahim and Symposium Chairman, Dr.Hassan Nagah.
Partnership with many national and international research organisations will be carried with the presence of industrial representatives. Key note speakers will include a worldwide expertise in Catalysis field, Professor Ken-ichi Shimizu (Institute for Catalysis, Hokkaido University – Japan), Professor Tamaki Nakano (Hokkaido University – Japan), Associate Professor Hakim Siddiq (Co-organizer, Tokyo Metropolitan University – Japan), Professor Bahaa AbuZied (Assuit University-Egypt ) , Professor Ahmed Abdel Moneim (Egyptian-Japan University of Science and Technology – Egypt), Professor Mohamed ElDeeb (Cairo University – Egypt) and Professor Seham Shaban (Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute- Egypt).
An Introduction to Catalysis:
Catalysis is the main key material for many industrial processes; over 85 % of industries are based on the chemistry of catalysis such as fertilizers, textiles, pharmaceuticals and petrochemicals. Recently the Noble prizes issued in 2010 and 2021 were granted for achievements in the catalysis field.
