The British University in Egypt (BUE) is delighted to announce that two of our students, Sama Hefnawi and Kareem Heda, made it to the top five winners board in the first run of the Refinitiv Portfolio Management Competition.
Refinitiv (Previously Thomson Reuters and currently owned by London Stock Exchange) is a global provider of financial data, market news and industry- leading data to financial markets professionals. For the first time ever, Refinitiv hosted the Portfolio Management Competition, with the main goal being to allow students to build the highest performing portfolio over four weeks, based on specific set criteria.
The BUE’s students were competing with more than 70 participants from 17 different universities, in seven countries. The top 10 contestants were asked to submit in-depth presentations showcasing the selection process and tools that were used, in front of a panel of jurors. The panel announced five winners based on the portfolio’s performance, breadth of knowledge, methodology, and presentation skills, with the top five contestants granted an exclusive Refinitiv internship. BUE students were selected among the top five winners.
Our students’ outstanding performance was backed by robust preparation and coaching by Dr. Dalia El-Mosalamy, and the entire finance team.
