The British University in Egypt celebrated the inauguration of Professor Mohamed Loutfi, The Fifth President of the BUE on December 11, 2021.
The presidential inauguration marked the beginning of a new chapter in the life of a university as well as a noteworthy milestone in its history. It formed a proper transition to publicly recognise the institution’s change in leadership and presented the new president, reaffirming the university’s institutional commitments, core values, and district attributes, and developing future aspirations. The event also served as a celebration of the university’s history as it moves forward.
The inauguration ceremony was hosted in the university theatre in the presence of some of the most distinguished high profile attendees, including, H.E. Professor Nabila Makram, Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs, Sir Magdi Yacoub, H.E. Professor Mostafa El Feki, H.E. Ambassador Gareth Bailey, British Ambassador to Egypt, H.E. Mr. Marc Barety, French Ambassador to Egypt, H.E. Mr. Ahmed El-Tazi, Moroccan Ambassador to Egypt, H.E. Dr. Mohamadou Labarang, Cameroonian Ambassador to Egypt, H.E. Mr. Dominic Goh, Singaporean Ambassador to Egypt, and Ms. Farida Khamis, Chair of the Board of Trustees.
The inauguration ceremony began with a procession for the University’s Board of Trustees, a word from Ms. Farida Khamis, Chair of the Board of Trustees, and then finally the inauguration of our new president, followed by his inaugural speech.
