Pharmacy Faculty at The British University in Egypt held the First Annual Conference for the Pharmacognosy and Microbiology Department on the 15th of September 2019 in the University premises.

The Conference started by a speech from Professor Mohey EL Mazar, Faculty of Pharmacy Dean, followed by a speech from the Vice Dean Professor AbdelGawad Hashem.

During the Conference, Professor Maha Salama, Head of the Pharmacognosy Department highlighted the achievements of the department, followed by a presentation by Dr. Amira Khalil, Lecturer in the Clinical Pharmacy Department, talking about the Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) for the Canadian Pharmacy Diploma. The aim of the (OSCE) as an interactive assessment tool for pharmacy students. Later on, Dr. Eman Zaghloul and Dr. Nader Afifi presented what they have implemented for the current year about the trends in teaching patterns.

International companies like Apex sponsored the conference and showed a case on their work in the local and international markets related to the scope of science that is studied in Pharmacognosy and Microbiology, followed up with Q& A between students and staff members. The Faculty of Pharmacy consistently encourages the young generation to be progressive in their fields of study & to promote Scientific research providing all support to tighten the gap between the field of study and the real market.
