The British University in Egypt (BUE) is proud of its three Faculty of Engineering students, Nermine Sobhy, Ahmed Magdy, and Mohamed Al-Aidi for developing a prosthetic limb that utilizes a new innovative way to operate.
The arm is controlled through a small device connected to your head that sends brain signals directly to the prosthetic limb, allowing it to move around freely. Unlike most motor-powered prosthetic options, this limb works using air pressure, allowing it to be much lighter and therefore easier to use.
Our young innovators won second place at the Abu Dhabi Virtual Research Competition against 315 projects from 87 different universities. To add to that, Dell International chose their project as one of the top 10 projects in the world!
This is just the beginning of their journey towards success, and we’re excited to see what the future holds in store for them.
