Mai completed her bachelor in business studies from Loughborough University and the British University in Egypt, specializing in human resource management. She earned a first class honors degree, ranking the top student among her specialization. In 2016, she obtained her master’s degree in business administration from Ain Shams University. She is currently studying for her PhD degree at Heidelberg University, Germany, and she is a member of the Heidelberger Graduiertenschule für Geistes- und Sozialwissenschaften (HGGS).
