He received his B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in History from Cambridge University. Professor Croxford has taught at Cambridge, Tsukuba University (Japan) and in the U.S.A. at Rutgers, Emory and Harvard where he was a Head Preceptor in Expository Writing. At the American University in Cairo he was tenured in the Department of English and Comparative Literature, Director of the Writing Program, a founding member of Senate and a creator of the University’s Liberal Arts Core Curriculum. Leslie Croxford went on to become a full professor with tenure at Suffolk University in Boston. He founded its campus in Madrid, Spain, and was Director for ten years before returning to Cairo to help found the British University in Egypt as Preparatory Year Programme Director, Academic Director, then Vice-President for Teaching and Learning.
