Dr. Sahar M. Abdel-Haleim is currently working as a lecturer of Economics at the British University in Egypt. She has received her Ph.D. in Economics from Cairo University, faculty of Economics and Political Science in 2015 and Master of Arts from the American University in Cairo in 2006. She worked as an adjunct faculty for two years at the Economics department in the American University in Cairo.
She holds the position of an economic expert assistant at the Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) that is related to the Egyptian cabinet. As a project manager in the IDSC, she published a number of reports and policy papers about the critical economic issues discussed by the Egyptian Cabinet such as debt sustainability, interaction of monetary and fiscal policies in Egypt, economics of sanitation and petroleum price impact on the Egyptian economy.
Based on her excellent academic performance, she had received Graduate Merit Fellowship awards in the Department of Economics at the AUC for the academic years from 2002 to 2004. Also, she had received assistantship awards at AUC from 2001 to 2004. As well, she had received a Golden Medal in the graduation ceremony of the Bachelor of Economics from (The Late) His Highness Sheikh Zayed the former president of the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.). She has published on topics about bread subsidy in Egypt, the effect of devaluation of the exchange rate on economic growth, interaction of monetary and fiscal policies, coordination between policies and measuring fiscal multipliers in Egypt.
Dr. Sahar Abdel-Haleim is a reviewer in the Global Business Research Journal and the International Research in Economics and Finance. She holds a membership in the Egyptian Society for Political Economics, Statistics and Legislation (ESPESL), the Middle East Economic Association (MEEA) and the Western Economic Association (WEA).
