The Faculty of Arts & Humanities offers a programme that is designed to expose students to up-to-date techniques and state-of-the-art developments by building upon the foundational underpinnings of clinical psychology and counselling. The programme offers students the opportunity to choose a study pathway which reflects their developing, and possibly changing, interests. In the first and second terms of study, the student understands major, key concepts and is provided with skills in the core modules covering the essential knowledge of Clinical Psychology. In the third and fourth terms of study, students are expected to choose a research topic and write a thesis in Clinical Psychology.
Rules and Required Documents
Registration in the Clinical Psychology MSc programme requires BA or BSc degree in Psychology with Grade “C” (Good) from a university accredited by the Supreme Council of Universities, or a Postgraduate diploma in Psychology for those whose graduation grade is lower than C.
English Level:
Students who are not holders of a BUE (or any other English speaking University) Undergraduate Degree must obtain an English level of 6.5 in Academic IELTS or 550 in TOEFL.
Military service (for males):
Certificate of military service completion or exemption for a minimum of 2 years.
Required documents:
- Original BA certificate or Postgraduate diploma certificate.
- Accreditation from the Supreme Council of Universities for Graduates of Academies and Higher Institutes offering BA or BSc. degrees (N/A for Universities’ Graduates).
- Original transcript.
- Original IELTS certificate.
- Original birth certificate.
- A copy of the National ID (for Egyptians) or Passport (for non-Egyptians).
- 4 personal photos (4X6).
- Original certificate of military service (for Egyptians males).

Scholarships:
- Top BUE graduates of the psychology department, appointed as Teaching Assistants at the BUE, receive full scholarship on application fee and tuition fees.
- Full time employees at the BUE can get partial scholarship of 50% on all fees, excluding UK validation fee.
- Sons and daughters of Full time employees at the BUE receive the same discount as the undergraduates in the same position ( excluding UK validation fee).
- BUE graduates, eligible to join the programme, are entitled to a partial scholarship of 30% on tuition fees only (application fee and UK validation fee are excluded).
- A scholarship is terminated if the student fails any single postgraduate module.
- Students must score a cumulative average of 75% to maintain the Students who do not meet this requirement can be re-awarded the scholarship if they score an average of 75% or higher in the modules completed in one of the two main semesters, computed as cumulative over the entire programme or over the last semester, whichever is greater.
- All Scholarship recipients among BUE employees including Teaching Assistant must consent to work at BUE for two academic years following their graduation.
- BUE full time employees have the option to pay postgraduate tuitions for each semester (excluding summer) in three installments as deductions from their salaries.
