Obituary for Mr. Mohamed Farid Khamis, BUE’s Founder and Chairman of its Board of Trustees
With deep sorrow and profound grief, we announce that Mr. Mohamed Farid Khamis passed away earlier this afternoon (Saturday 19 September, 2020) in hospital in the USA with all his family surrounding him after a long battle with illness. The BUE has lost its founder, visionary and the Chairman of its Board of Trustees. Mr. Mohamed Farid Khamis was:
* An Egyptian industrialist, who believed that people are the basis for the emergence of any nation and the advancement of societies through the commitment to distinguished sciences and advanced scientific research.
* He strongly believed in philanthropy; the importance of the social responsibilities and impacts of investment capitals
* He was described by many as “Talaat Harb of Egypt” and the Pioneer of the Egyptian industries.
* Married has two daughters (Yasmine and Farida), a son (Mohamed), and three grandchildren (Omar, Malak and Osama).
Degrees
1. Bachelor of Commerce, Ain Shams University, 1961.
2. Master’s in Industrial Costs, and Studies in Textile Industry.
3. Honorary Doctorate from Loughborough University, UK, 2008.
4. Awarded the highest Belgian medal in May 2008, by the Crown Prince of Belgium at the time (currently King of the Belgians)
Life Accomplishments
Founder of (Orientals) Group, an integrated group working in the field of textiles and petrochemicals, it includes several companies, working in the manufacturing of carpets, fibers, spinning, petrochemicals, in addition to marketing the related products locally and internationally. This includes several areas, such as:
Tourism, real estate, furniture, agricultural industries, petrochemicals, in addition to international trade.

(Oriental Weavers) products always win the best in the world, in Hannover, Germany, and Atlanta, USA, amid wide international recognitions.
